Most people who've read my writing either helped me make it or they say deviantart isn't the place for literature... to them I say, there's a prose fiction option in the submition window, therefore it's all good...

I hear ya. I could see their point of view I guess since a majority of what is on DA is, well, art. But a you say, there's a prose fiction option, so it's all good, I say. Besides, if they don't like it, it's not like anyone is putting a gun to their head and forcing them to read it, haha.
I'm glad to hear you're interested in the forum! Mostly we discuss different aspects of fantasy and sci-fi writin. We also do roleplays, and help each other out (through motivation) in writing longer projects and even novels, and we also do something called writing duels, where we compete against each other in writing short stories in various subjects. It's pretty fun. All in all, that's what we do, but the main thing we're about is just having fun and being good friends.

All in all, that's what we do, but the main thing we're about is just having fun and being good friends. Well, I am an aspiring novelist, and I actually have several dozen books on the back burner that I plan to publish for a sum of money later on... I dunno, maybe just a little paranoid about people stealing my ideas hehe. I read over your forum and looked through some of the strings, seems like my kinda place.
What I'd like to know is where you draw the line between original pieces and fanfiction... most of the stuff I publish on DA (and would publish on any other story site for that matter) is fanfictions, based in the worlds of other stories or movies. This tends to be that all my original ideas are to extravagant to throw out into the public domain... what are your thoughts on that subject?
